Dr. Rebecca Bean, DVM

Dr. Bean has wanted to be a veterinarian since she was 10 years old. Dr. Bean completed her undergraduate work earning a degree in Animal Science at the University of Nevada, Reno.  She went on to earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree at Kansas State University. After graduation, she pursued her passion for equine medicine at Idaho Equine Hospital.  She went on to develop a love of mixed practice and started Bean Veterinary Services, allowing her to take care of all sorts of four-legged pets and livestock. Dr. Bean now focuses exclusively on small animal medicine: dogs, cats and the occasional rabbit.

Dr. Bean is the oldest of three girls. She was born and raised in Dayton, Nevada and her parents still live in the house in which she was raised.  She is the mother of a seven-year-old girl and five-year old twins, one boy and one girl!  She is married to Star Native (and love of her life), Robert Bean.  She met her husband through a friend and bonded over their love of animals, the outdoors, and building fence.  She has a mini dachshund named Hershey and a rabbit named Thunder. She enjoys running, yoga, and playing with her kids. She also enjoys reading fiction, baking cookies, and anything that gets her outside.

Dr. Bean’s passion is with her patients and providing excellent medical care. She delights in partnering with pet owners and celebrating the human-animal bond. She considers her role as a veterinarian an honor and a privilege. Dr. Bean founded Bean Veterinary in October of 2013.

Meet the Bean Team

Lyric Pierce

Office Manager/Client Service Representative

Lyric has always loved cute puppies. Her love of animals drove her to find a career where she was able to be surrounded by all different types of critters. Prior to joining the Bean Team, Lyric gained knowledge and experience working with emergency and board certified specialists in a large veterinary care facility. She found that the most rewarding aspect of her job was seeing how much every client loves their pets! “The most important part of my job is doing whatever I can to help make the sick pets better.” She is an expert at communication and plays a vital role ensuring each patient, whether sick or healthy, is able to get the help they need from Dr. Bean. Lyric also acts as Dr. Bean’s assistant whenever she is needed, and is always happy to jump in and help.

Lyric has two dogs, Pistol Annie (Toy Aussie Mix) and Rooster Cogburn (Golden Retriever). In her spare time Lyric enjoys camping.

Lyric joined the Bean Veterinary team in July of 2020.
